Creating your own theme - part2
Based upon the initial release of the ProfiMail inspired theme I got some comments back to eliminate the background pictures. For sure this will support more contrast and better visibility. As such I have updated the first release to Profi theme v1.01w (w=without background pictures). Hope you like it - basically the original is also still offered - for that please also refer to e-series.org.
Anyway, if you have any further ideas just let me know. Also if somehow this theme “inspired” you to create other themes, just let me know.
You can download the updated theme here. (Btw. still nice and small)

great theme, especially the analogue clock is of the kind i like best. and generally speaking the colors are warm and intermediate, not too harsh and not too unnoticeable.
my picky issues are:
1. i know the website is put there for some reason, but i really would like to have a version without that. but the “e61 - my mobile - found after many many years” is cool being there.
2. i can’t keep thinking the battery indicators of being smaller than those of signal indicators. does anything real happy to them?
3. when you enter “contact” display, in my opinion the interface is a bit of “too busy” with tab color in green and deeper green. how about change the deeper green to lighter green?
THx for the update
Richard

Yes something happens to the indicators. But to make it more clear I have changed the look. Btw. in your theme definition you do not control what you see if the battery power drops. You simply define the total “bitmap” and the software on the phone shows “a part of the bitmap” based upon the available power. Same for network strength.
Can you post a tutorial on how to make a theme on carbide. i cannot seem to find one anywhere
Kenneth,
I have uploaded a user guide fo you on the server - please check the below URL for downloading :
http://rgatzen.com/e61/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/User_guide_Carbide_ui_Theme.zip
i have seen this guide and it sucks. i was hoping for a better step by step
thx for update.
do you have your carbide saved files. maybe by varying those i can get a better idea on how to do this
Kenneth,
Will consider your request to make a “simple” step-by-step plan … although … let us see.
BTW. Carbide.ui comes with 6/7 standard themes. The themes can be changed and updated in any way you want, basically no different than any other *.tdf.
Best, Beemer.
i tried to change around some of the themes but it never seemed to work like i wanted it. you use landscape mode right?
I’ve tried making e61 theme, but I cant change the resolution into landscape mode. when I hit landscape/potrait icon, the image turned into landscape but status image didnt. help please..
Raynold,
I am not quite clear on your meaning.
In principle you can select the 320×240 resolution and most of the forms are changed into landscape mode. If GIFs are used as background obviously these should also be prepared for landscape mode.
Best,
